Lake Como is a Borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 1,806. Lake Como was originally formed as the borough of South Belmar by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 12, 1924. On November 2, 2004, voters in the borough approved changing the locality's name from South Belmar to Lake Como. The change became effective January 4, 2005.

The Borough of Lake Como (formally known as South Belmar) Municipal Court is located at 601 Main Street, P.O. Box 569, Belmar, New Jersey 07719. The court sessions are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 9 a.m. The municipal court judge in Lake Como is the Honorable Mark Apostolou. The court administrator is Lynn Tilton. The municipal prosecutor is Kimberley Castin, Esq.  There is a conference room adjacent to the courtroom where criminal attorneys and pro se litigants can meet with the prosecutor.

Directions to the Municipal Court

From the Garden State Parkway Use Exit 98 to Rte 138 East.

From I 195 East - I 195 becomes Rte 138 East.

From Rte 18 South to End onto Rte 138 East.

Take Rte. 138 East until it ends, stay in the left lane and follow signs for Hwy 35 North. Continue on Hwy 35 North into the Belmar Marina area staying in the right lane. Take 1st right after "Pat's Diner", 8th Avenue (at traffic light), go over railroad tracks to next traffic light.Turn left onto Main Street. Proceed two (2) blocks to 6th Avenue and turn left. Parking available in the rear of Borough Hall. Enter court through the 6th Avenue Doors.
